We are founders who only work with brands we would buy ourselves. That filter shapes everything: who we work with, how we represent them, and how we protect them in a market they are not yet close to. Between us we have spent the better part of two decades living and building across some of the world’s great consumer markets, and we bring that experience to every brand we represent.

Rachel Barac / Co-Founder / Head of Community & Insights

Rachel has a background in psychology and more than a decade of experience coaching professionals and leadership teams across Asia and Australia. She founded Boss Lady in Shanghai, a community supporting female entrepreneurs, and brings deep insight into consumer behaviour, brand loyalty, and what drives genuine connection between people and the products they love. That understanding shapes how Freshwater evaluates and represents every brand it partners with.

Billy Becket / Co-Founder / Head of Operations

Billy's experience spans investment banking, advertising, and global creative operations. He helped build Fin Design + Effects into an international visual effects studio, establishing and managing offices in Shanghai and Los Angeles while leading large teams across multiple time zones. He brings commercial rigour, creative instinct, and firsthand experience scaling operations in new markets to everything Freshwater does.

WHY WE STARTED

Freshwater Ventures grew out of a simple observation. Many of the values driven brands we loved overseas were not properly available in Australia. Not in the way they were intended to be experienced.

So while ANZ may be a smaller market globally, it is a meaningful one, with a high quality customer base and a strong appetite for trusted brands.

We bring those brands here with the care and rigour they have earned, so ANZ consumers can access the products the rest of the world already loves.
